Set on 250 acres of land, Sea World San Antonio actually comprises four parks in one. There are a rides and slides park, a marvelous animals park, a water park and a spectacular show park.
The amazing animals park features:
* Aviary Habitats- The colorful parrots and lorikeets from Australia are a visual delight and so are the kookaburras, the white-necked turacos and the golden pheasants. Here you can find the Attwater's prairie chickens and Hawaiian nene geese, which are on the most endangered bird list of the United States.
* Dolphin Cove – Guests can have a delightful time feeding and touching the playful and gentle Atlantic bottlenose dolphins at Dolphin Cove for an unforgettable experience.
* Seal and Sea Lion Community – Visitors can look forward to feeding the sea lions and seals in their natural outdoor habitat that is simulated to look like the rugged, rocky Pacific coastline.
* Penguin Encounter – No matter what the season, freezing temperatures and falling snow prevail here in this simulated sub-Antarctic environment that is home to over 200 delightful penguins.
* Sharks/The Coral Reef – Take an underwater plunge to the dark depths of the sea and come face-to-tooth with these mysterious creatures in their 450,000-gallon habitat. Marvel at the rainbow of colors in the nearby 300,000-gallon coral reef exhibit.
The rides and slides park provides thrills galore with some of the most exciting rides including:
* The Great White" – a heart stopping inverted roller coaster, where you go head-over-heels as you speed through 2,500 feet of corkscrews and loops at 50 mph.
* Rio Loco – an exhilarating adventure over river rapids where you go through a drenching waterfall and churn through a raging stream trying to conquer 1,8000 feet of bends and dips.
* "The Shamu Express," – this roller coaster, with cars designed as killer whales, will zip the whole family along 220 feet of track at a speed of 14 mph.
* Texas Splashdown – this twisting and turning ride provides chills and thrills galore with two heart stopping drops as you suddenly plunge down five stories twice along the ˝ mile route.
* Steel Eel- provides even more heart-pounding action with its initial plunge that takes you down 15 storeys at a velocity of 65mph.
The show park at the San Antonio zoo is stunning and sensational. At Viva you can watch the fascinating aerialists, professional divers and synchronized swimmers perform with graceful dolphins and spectacular beluga whales. At Believe, guests sit inside a compact theater and get an amazing head view of underwater life.
